GOD'S CORRECTION IS FOR A PURPOSE

GOD’S CORRECTION IS FOR A PURPOSE

                                                                Lamentation (3:22-39)

God’s mercy makes Him correct and not destroy His children when they sin. When suffering the consequences of sin, God’s mercy remains evident. God punishes out of love (Hebrews 12:5-8). What did the writer warn the sufferer not to do (v.39)? Don’t wallow in self pity! List 5 constructive things you should rather engage in (vs. 24, 26, 28, 29&30). Never mind being derided or humiliated – rather look beyond the suffering to the time of God’s restoration. So God controls what happens to His children and we can always trust His unfailing mercy to terminate suffering when our obedience is complete. (Cor. 10:6).
